Arus
Mitchell
December 6, 1948 – April 22, 2026
Arus “Bodyman” Mitchell was born on December 6, 1948, in Bainbridge, Georgia. He was the beloved son of the late Elnora and Jessie Mitchell. Arus was a humble, strong, and kind-hearted man who believed in respect and hard work. He was known for his generous spirit, his willingness to help others, and his ability to make an impact on everyone he met. His nickname, “Bodyman,” reflected both his skill and passion for car body work—something he truly enjoyed and took pride in.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including fishing, watching television, gardening, and working on cars. He had a love for drag racing and anything that involved engines, paint, and craftsmanship.
Arus proudly served his country in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. He worked as a farmer, later dedicated many years to Firestone, and went on to drive for Southern Ag for 32 years, showing unwavering commitment and a strong work ethic throughout his life.
In 1971, he met the love of his life, Minnie, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and resilience.
Arus “Bodyman” Mitchell will be remembered as a devoted family man, a hardworking provider, and a man of quiet strength and deep love. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
