Obituary

CARLOS DERIVIA THOMAS was born on December 7, 1969, in Albany, Georgia. He was the loving son of the late Willie Frank Williams and Barbara Jean Thomas.

He was educated in the Dougherty County School System in Albany, Georgia, graduating from Westover High School. Carlos, most affectionately known by everyone as “Kilo,” was a very caring, warm-hearted man who had an infectious personality that pulled people in and never let them go.

Over the years, Carlos worked various jobs that allowed him to show the talent he had with the use of his hands such as landscaping and construction work. He also worked for several years with Southern Concrete.

Carlos enjoyed fishing and always volunteering to offer a lending hand with neighborhood community service events. He was definitely the life of any party when hanging with special friends and spending time with family, but his greatest past time was being a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan.

On Sunday, June 14, 2026, Carlos transitioned from this earthly life. In addition to his father, Willie Frank Williams, Carlos was preceded in death by his grandparents, Catherine Thomas and Jethro Spicer.

Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of his son, Carlos D. Mathis; grandson, Cassius D. Mathis; mother, Barbara Jean Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and other special family and friends.
