Obituary

Emonica Shantele Dawson was born on October 5, 1988, in Albany, Georgia, to the late Ms. Lawanda Darlene Dawson.

At an early age, Emonica accepted Christ as her savior and attended the House of Prayer by Faith Church.

She received her formal education in the Dougherty County Public School System.

Affectionately known as "Lil Bit," a nickname lovingly given to her by her late grandmother, and "Monckee," a name given by her nephew Jailin when he was too little to pronounce her name, Emonica carried those names as badges of love throughout her life. They reflected the warmth and affection that surrounded her from childhood into adulthood.

Known for her vibrant spirit and magnetic personality, Emonica was truly the life of the party. Her smile could light up any room, and she never met a stranger. To know her was to love her.

Emonica was the cherished baby of five siblings , a role she embraced with both sass and sweetness.

Above all, Emonica was a devoted and loving mother to her four beautiful daughters. The girls were her heart, pride, and greatest accomplishment.

She deeply cherished Zaki Davis, who was not only a loving father to her youngest daughter but also a devoted bonus dad to her three other daughters.

Emonica treasured her friendships and created countless memories filled with laughter, fun, and unconditional support. Her circle was wide, and her impact was deep. She shared special bonds with her three bonus sisters, Kearra Walker, Porsha Toomer, and Reyagie Clark, who stood by her not just as friends, but as family.

Emonica's life was a celebration of love, family, friendship, and fun. Her presence was bold, her laugh was contagious, her smile was infectious, and her heart was pure. Though her time here was far too short, the joy she brought into this world will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

On February 10, 2026, at the tender age of 37, Emonica Shantele Dawson transitioned from this life leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable joy. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

She leaves to cherish her memories four beautiful daughters, Jada Dawson, Keasia Dawson, Kyla Taylor, and Danasia Davis; two sisters, Lakisha Dawson-Barnum of Valdosta, Georgia, and Cindy Love of Albany, Georgia; one brother, Johnny Dawson, of Valdosta, Georgia; three loving uncles, Abe Dawson, Jr., of Albany, Georgia, Alonzo (Othel) Dawson, and Monterio Dawson of Atlanta, Georgia; two aunts, Gwendolyn (Jimmy) Farley, and Tracy (Willie) Dennard; nieces, Brianna Dawson, Chasidy Dawson, Mykayla Dawson, Malay'ja Barnum, and Miracle Dawson; nephews, Jailin Dawson, Aam'ron Barnum.
