On Saturday October 26, 1946, Helen Louise Finney was the third Child born to the Late Jimmie Lee Finney & the Late Doris Louise Ringwood Finney in Albany, Dougherty Co, GA.
Helen confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early aged, she was baptized at The Church of the Living God, Box Bottom. She was nurtured under the leadership of The Late William Bill Sibley.
Helen was united in Holy Matrimony to the Late Mr. Albert Riggins Jr. to this union they were blessed with five children. One (1) Teresa Elizabeth proceeded them in death.
Mrs. Helen and the late Mr. Albert made a home of love, exampling excellence a to achieve great success for their children. She encouraged other children as if they were her sons and daughters. Always opening her door to many families and friends in need. She became the neighborhood Mom. “Momma Helen”
Ms. Helen, as many called her work as a School Crossing Guard on Society & Resident, held other positions: Flint River Textile, Children Friend Leaning Center, A Devoted Caregiver to many Family members and to other families in need. Her 2 greater achievements were going back to night school for IBM training. And the Pride owner of Riggins Flower’s & Gifts in East Albany. Her love of life gave her the ability to use her hands.
On Sunday April 19, 2026, Helen transitioned in her home surrounded by her loved ones, bidding you goodnight until we meet again.
Mrs. Helen leaves to Cherished her memory and legacy Three (3) Sons: Elder Kenneth L. Riggins of Orlando, FL, Retired Staff Sergeant Deacon Anthony W. (Deaconess Angelique) Riggins of Fort Mitchell, AL; Retired Sergeant Major Don D. (Lt. Colonel Keya) Riggins, of Augusta, GA; One (1) Daughter: Ms. Deborah A. Riggins of Albany, GA. Five (5) Brothers: Mr. Roosevelt Finney & Deacon Terry Finney both of Albany, GA; Minister John E. Finney of Charlotte, NC., David, Lemaurice Thompson, Both of New Jersey. Seven (7) Sisters: Mrs. Rena Walker, Mrs. Evelyn Jones and Ms. Christine Finney, all of Albany, GA.; Mrs. Rosamarie Rodger, Ms. Sherry Forney, Mrs. Rosemary Stevens-Royster and Sharon Thompson all of New Jersey. One (1) Sister-In-Law: Mrs. Eleanor Glaze of Albany, GA. Nine (8) Grandchildren: Kenarus, Anthony (Caroline), Jasmine (DreQuay Everett), Jaylynn, D’Andre, Zerricka, Dequarius, and Cody. Host of many more Grandchildren. Eight (8) Great Grandchildren: Kenshondra, BreAsia, Judah, Kinsley, Jah’Kobe, Myles, Aylvia. Host of Cousin, Nephews and Nieces. She was blessed with MANY God Children: Murray Nelson, Curtis (Renee) Johnson, Carlos Willis, Wendy Smith, Sabrina Cutts, & Quient Milledge (so many I cannot name the all in this program)
Relatives who proceeded in death Siblings: Debbie Finney, Rosa Finney, Melvin Finney, Mary Armstead, Melvin Thompson, Jimmie, Janie, Eugene Watson, Larry Thompson and Kim Thompson. In-Laws: Father & Mother-In-Law: Mr. Albert & Lillian Riggins, Sisters-In Laws with Husband: Mrs. Eva (Willie) Rivers, Mrs. Dorothy (Alex) Farmer. She was Granddaughter of the Late George and Mother Mattie Davis Gilliam Ringwood. Nathan and Mother Rena Finney.
