Jarrod Thomas, cherished son of Clemmie Thomas, Jr. and the late Rosie Johnson Thomas, was born in Albany, Georgia on January 11, 1973.
He received his early childhood and secondary education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Westover High School in 1992.
Fondly called "JT" by family, peers, and close friends, Jarrod was a very jovial, high-spirited young man who brought joy and laughter into the lives of so many people. His school years were filled with excitement and unrelenting determination to gain all that he could from his educational experiences. In his later years, JT's "gift of gab" and unforgettable presence continued to bring light and laughter into every room that he entered. His love for life and ardent enthusiasm were contagious—he made friends effortless.
One of his greatest joys was family gatherings where he was famous for telling stories, making jokes, and keeping everyone entertained. He had the unique ability to find humor in any situation! Although faced with significant health challenges, Jarrod persevered courageously until he faced the sunset of his earthly life on November 9, 2025, with his father by his side. Now free from pain, he will always be remembered with a smile rather than with tears.
We will miss his witty sense of humor, his contagious laugh, and his love of life. Jarrod was a "one-in-a-million" special kind of person. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Marion Thomas; grandparents, Clemmie Thomas, Sr., Josephine Thomas, Willie B. Johnson, and Velma Fulmore Johnson; uncles and aunts, Jocky Thomas, James Thomas, Eddie Hunt, Sr., Willie M. Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Deloris Walls, Dean H. McCray, and Margaret A. Brown. Loving memories will forever remain with his wife, Syreeta Thomas; his beloved father, Clemmie Thomas, Jr.; siblings, Michael (Althea) Thomas, Vincent (Jama) Thomas, Greg Heard, and Kim Dillard; niece, Hailey Thomas; aunts and uncles, Annie Mae Heard, Dorothy (Eddie) Hunt, Mary (Clifford) Hall, Sylvia (Sheron) Barlow, Belinda (Marlon) Johnson, Tammy (Milton) Johnson, Ophelia Thomas, Lovey Thomas, Jewel Walls, Henry (Renita) Johnson, Grady (Joyce) Johnson, Charlie (Dorothy) Sims, and Alexander Jones; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends
