Linda Walden
Coe
Jul 17, 1962 — Jun 5, 2026
Obituary Linda Walden Coe, most affectionately known as “Thigh,” was born on July 17, 1962, in Thomasville, Georgia, to James Walden and the late Annie Bell Jackson Walden.
She was a member of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Thomasville, Georgia, where she gave her life to Christ at a very young age.
Linda was educated in the Thomasville School System and graduated high school in 1980. After high school, she attended The Unsinkable Albany State University in 1984 with a degree in Sociology. During her time at ASU, Linda befriended a group of young ladies and they formed a friendship that has lasted over 46 years, recently adopting the name “The ASU Sassy 60s”!!
Linda married her Valentine and everlasting love, Mr. Willie B. Coe, on February 14, 1990. Together, they raised a beautiful family.
Linda began her work career as a police officer for Albany Police Department where she worked hard to protect and serve the citizens of Albany, Georgia. She then left APD in 1996 and became a social worker for the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services where she worked many years serving the families in her community. Years passed and Linda decided to return to school to further her education so she could become certified in Special Education. She absolutely loved her students in both the Baker County School System and Mitchell County School System where she worked faithfully.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Bell Walden; brother, Henry Walden; sisters, Gloria Walden, Wanda Sutton, and Janice Givens; and grandson, Devin Coe.
Linda departed this life on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Willie B. Coe, Sr.; children, Jalessa, David (Kimberly), and Marcus Coe; bonus children, Jennifer Hunter and Willie B. Coe, Jr.; grandsons, King David Jamal Coe, Desean Walter Coe, father, James Walden; siblings, Willie (Barbara) Walden, Anthony (Sundaire) Walden, and Anita Walden, Roderick Cason (Julissa) Carroll Cason (Stacy) Darryl Cason and Donnie Cason. She also leaves memories to be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, all who will miss her dearly.
