Obituary

Linda Ann Jackson was born on March 10, 1957, to the late Charlie and Christine Marshall.

She peacefully transitioned on April 2, 2026, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia, surrounded by her loved ones.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Martha Sanders and Charlene Anderson; and brothers, Charlie “Luke” Marshall, Bobby “Peewee” Marshall, and David Lovett.

At an early age, Linda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in Leary, Georgia, where she attended Eureka Missionary Baptist Church. She faithfully served as a choir member and later as a deaconess, demonstrating her strong faith and commitment to her church and community.

Linda was a dedicated and beloved educator. She began her teaching career at Monroe Comprehensive High School and later transitioned to Westover Comprehensive High School, where she retired. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from Albany State University and her Master’s degree in Education from Albany State University. She also pursued further studies at the University of Phoenix, earning most of the credits toward her doctoral degree.

Linda leaves to cherish her loving memory to her devoted husband, Willie Gene Jackson; children, Roderick Jackson and Marchan Jackson; and beloved grandchildren, Lyndsey Jackson, Sydney Jackson, Kyngston Cole, and Langston Cole. She also leaves behind her cherished granddog, Nino Jackson.

She is survived by her siblings, Kenneth (Helen) Marshall, Dorothy Lovett, Cynthia Marshall, and Deloris Marshall; Goddaughters, Cassandra Franklin and Auja Robinson; Godgrandson, Kyle Robinson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Along with her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Annie Jackson, Doretha Price, Penola (Alva) James, James Walton, Eddie Joe (Mary) Walton, Pearline Jackson, Saul Jackson, Curtis (Danita) Walton, Phillip Jackson, and Phillis(Larry) Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Clarence Jackson, Annie Walton, and Lucious Price.
