Richard Newsome was born July 7, 1953, in Albany, Georgia to the Late Mr. Robert Dotson and the late Ms. Annie Will Webb. 

He grew up in Albany, Georgia, and attended Monroe Comprehensive High School. 

Richard met and married Shirley Frazier Newsome at a younger age in life. 

He worked much of his adult life as a brick mason and was employed with LRA Construction Company, where he worked faithfully until his health began to fail.

Richard was a family man, and his favorite past times were dancing, being a good jokester, and socializing. He was the life of any party for sure.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Pearl Trutlin, Lula Bell Harmon, Doris Paige, Louis Newsome, Sammie Newsome, Harry Newsome, James Newsome, and Vincent Newsome.

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, Richard received his final call from the Lord, to rest from his labor to reward. Richard leaves to cherish his loving memories, his children, Adrian Kennon, Twanna Walker, Richarrda Williams, Nicholas Berry, and Noah Newsome; grandchildren, Faith Mallory, Kyia Young, Ron'Nayah Hall, Ron'Nesha Walker, Zerianna Jones, Bryson Berry, Ka'Viere Tucker, Noah Clay, Nahzir Clay; great-grandchildren, Kailee Young, Kade Broussard, Marquis Dawson, and Wy'mir Walton. 

He also leaves cherished memories with his siblings, Donna Meeks, Velma McGlary, Frances Newsome Grant, Marvin Newsome, and Joann Hardy. Richard also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, and family and friends who loved him dearly.
