Obituary

Terrance V. Mathis, son Eugene Vernon Harris and the late Felecia Mathis Johnson, was born in Albany, Georgia on April 8, 1986. He received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System, including Dougherty Comprehensive High School. Terrence was a very caring, witty, and jovial young man with an infectious personality that pulled his friends and teachers in and never let them go. He had a zest for life that was contagious. Very early in life, Terrence was taught to reverence God. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church where his faith, compassionate nature, and unyielding dedication greatly inspired and uplifted everyone around him. Terrance lived a life full of laughter, love, and a lightness of heart. In the eyes of his siblings, nieces and nephews, he was more than just a brother and uncle; he was a source of unwavering love and protection. His actions spoke volumes! Whether he was cracking jokes or lending a helping hand, Eric brought joy and comfort to everyone who crossed his path. He truly believed in the power of kindness and understanding. Terrance's greatest joy in life, however, was being a father. He was a pillar of strength and guidance to Javien and Kash'Mir, and he showered them with unconditional love and devotion. Without a doubt, he was the best father they could ever hope for. Terrance will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of being a part of his life. On October 7, 2025, Terrance transitioned from this earthly life. Though his departure leaves a void, his spirit will live on in those left behind. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother who guiding hand was forever with him , Felecia Mathis Johnson. Cherished memories of Terrance's strength and love will forever remain with his father, Eugene Vernon Harris; his children, Javien Jerome Jackson and Kash'Mir Vershawn Mathis; siblings, Derrick Mathis, Edwin Mathew Geter, Shandreka Mathis, Vernon Harris, and Kelvin Harris; grandparents, Dorothy Mathis and Jimmy Lee Mathis; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.
