Obituary

Tyrone heard a knock that couldn’t go unanswered. On Saturday, July 4, 2026, he answered the Master’s call and entered into his eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on forever.

Growing up in Albany, Georgia, Tyrone was educated in the Dougherty County School System. Tyrone lived a life that was unapologetic. He enjoyed fishing, watching Heat of the Night, cowboy and western shows, and spending time with family and friends.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will remember him as a strong-willed, fun-loving, and loyal father, brother, grandfather, and friend. His smile would light up any room he stepped foot in. Tyrone was preceded in death by his parents, George Maddox and Laverne Culbreth; his favorite uncle, Carey Lee Culbreth; and a bonus child, Desere Gray.

Loving memories will forever be cherished by his children: Lashala Robinson, Tyrone Culbreth Jr., Jatavius Covin, Raketa Shelton, and Tyler Culbreth. Bonus child: Vanessa Gray. His siblings: Michael (Marcella) Culbreth of Albany, GA; Eric (Nasheka) Culbreth, Sr. of Leesburg, GA; Leah (Don) Culbreth of Baltimore, MD; Sederrick Culbreth, Sr. of Albany, GA; and Kimberly Culbreth of Albany, GA. Tyrone’s memory will also live on through his grandchildren: Xayla, Makaylin, Kamryn, Callie, Jamauri, Jaylen, Quinton Jr., Sharelle, Devin, Ashley, Grace, and Christian Jr.; his last living great-aunt, Alice Watson; his uncles, Randy Culbreth of Alpharetta, GA, and Edward Culbreth of Albany, GA; and his aunt, Shirley (Henry) Allen of Leesburg, GA. He shared a special bond with his longtime companion, Shari Gray, and his stepfather, Roosevelt Blackshear. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
